We are excited to announce that the first scientific paper on our next-generation p-dopants has been published in the prestigious journal Advanced Science. This work, a collaboration between Technische Universität Dresden and Technische Universität München, introduces a new class of metal-organic p-dopants that can significantly improve organic electronic devices like OLEDs, organic solar cells, and infrared sensors.
Doping is essential for enhancing the performance of organic electronic technologies. However, existing dopants often absorb too much light, reducing efficiency in both displays and sensors. Our newly developed p-dopants tackle this issue by offering strong performance with minimal unwanted absorption, making them a game-changer for next-generation optoelectronic devices. One exciting application is in infrared photodetectors, where these new dopants helped improve sensitivity by almost a factor of ten compared to standard materials. This breakthrough could lead to more efficient and precise infrared sensing technologies, benefiting applications in imaging, health monitoring, and beyond.
We extend our gratitude to our collaborators at Technische Universität Dresden and Technische Universität München for their invaluable contributions. A special thanks to Stephanie Buchholtz, the first author of this study, for her dedication and outstanding work under the supervision of Prof. Karl Leo and Dr. Hans Kleemann, and to Dr. Johannes Benduhn for his expertise in organic photodetectors.
