Brief information

Background

The European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme will fund SmartEEs2, a European project. SmartEEs2 positions itself as a follow-up initiative to the SmartEEs Digital Innovation Hub, which has created a strong technological platform for OLAE (Organic large area electronics), and is now focusing on the use of the same technologies in the application of flexible and wearable electronics (FWE).

Objectives and approach

The objective of the programme is to help European industry to strengthen its competitive advantage by helping innovative companies to integrate flexible and wearable electronics technologies.

1. easy access to digital innovation

2. providing high-value services to innovative companies

3. pan-EU cooperation network for flexible and wearable electronics
